Fail secure devices remain closed when power is lost.
A “fail secure” electric strike lock remains locked when power is lost and is ideal in higher security areas where security must be maintained
Fail Safe Type
Fail safe devices open when power is lost.
A “fail safe” electric strike lock requires power to remain locked and typically is not suitable for high security applications because it is possible to disable the lock by disrupting the power supply.
