Electric Mortice Locks offer a high level of security, and work on a vast range of doors including narrow profile options.
Essentially they are a mortice lock, wired within the door, and are great in architectural scenarios where wiring is concealed, and then run through the hinges or along the wall.
As with most electrical Access Control systems, there are two distinct types
Fail Secure Type
Fail secure devices remain closed when power is lost.
A “fail secure”electric mortice lock remains locked when power is lost and is ideal in higher security areas where security must be maintained
Fail Safe Type
Fail safe devices open when power is lost.
A “fail safe”electric mortice lock requires power to remain locked and typically is not suitable for high security applications because it is possible to disable the lock by disrupting the power supply.
Ideal solution for
- High level security installations
- Narrow doors
- Architectural situations
- Not suitable for glass doors
